Mathematics Department  

The Hewlett High School Mathematics Department aims to provide students with instruction that allows them to grow in their conceptual understanding of mathematics. Such instruction prepares our students not only academically, but to be problem solvers in the real-world. Areas of study include Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Use of graphing calculators as a technological tool is emphasized throughout the academic program.

Outside the classroom, we have students involved in the Nassau County Mathletes Competition, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honors Society and the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 10/12). We are looking forward to an exciting year and welcome students to take part in our activities.
